Forensic Science Regulator
This section provides information on the Forensic Science Regulator (the Regulator). The Regulator is a public appointee whose function is to ensure that the provision of forensic science services across the criminal justice system is subject to an appropriate regime of scientific quality standards.

The Forensics Science Regulator, Andrew Rennison, is shortly to host a conference specifically intended for the smaller commercial companies and sole traders within forensic science provision.
The conference is to take place on 9 July 2009 (at The ICC, Broad Street, Birmingham) and will offer opportunity to brief stakeholders on the progress of forensic standards, future plans and to meet with the Regulator and feedback views and ask questions.
The conference will also include presentations on:
- the Forensic Standards Framework
- the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)
- NPIA - Procurement Framework for Small Businesses
- Skills for Justice – Occupational Standards
- The Forensic Science Society’s views on standards
- views from an independent small business.
